With All My Love...
I can’t imagine how to begin to try to say how thankful I am for this experience! I am so blessed and thrilled to be able to share my journey with all of you! You have helped me find the courage and build the confidence it takes to reveal the innate rarity to create and shape the Kimora Blac brand. My aspiration is not only to inspire anyone that wants to do drag, but ultimately to inspire everyone to have the confidence and call upon the courage needed to be who you are at all times. It's there. You have it. But you have to be beyond brave to dare to do it. Brave enough to never let anyone tell you you’re not worth it, because you are! Brave enough to never let anyone tell you what you deserve, because you deserve anything you desire! I struggled with my self-confidence for many years; and now, being in the public eye, I hope to have the ability to inspire, influence and make a difference in someone’s life. I feel it's my responsibility to do so.
I created Kimora Blac to be both coy and bitchy not only because it’s OK to be a bitch and sweet at the same time, but because these are two traits that everyone can relate to; especially during the crucial time of discovering who you truly are. We tend to hold these feelings back, not truly saying or doing what we want because we fear how we may be perceived, or because we fear the reaction or the harsh judgment from others. But we can’t be consumed, obsessed or preoccupied with what people will say or think at the risk of jeopardizing our own happiness. What we do with what gifts we are given, what we hope to become and how we live in the world - these things belong to us. There is so much we don't get to choose, but we must be in charge of our lives. It's scary, but there is no other choice. It is up to us.
I hope that the one thing you take from this is to always BE YOU! At the end of the day, never apologize for who you are. You have one life to live so live your life the way you want to live it, and have absolutely no regrets! If you make mistakes that lead to regrets - because we all do - do your best to fix them. If there is a dream that you are trying to bury inside yourself out of fear, out of shame, out of embarrassment think about nurturing it with some hope, some tenacity and a little bit of damn-the-world. Ask yourself, what should I do for myself and what gift can I give to the world, and you may find a path toward happiness. Lastly, don’t forget to love one another… Love is the only antidote to hate,
the only way we can overcome hate, and it's all we have to move our community forward! Remember #KimoraLovesYou
Thank you to my partner Rico Anthony, my parents and my whole family for the love and support you have always given me; thank you to my Kimora Blac team for the time and energy you all put into creating this brand. Thank you to my manager Michael Beneditti. Thank you to Logo TV, VH1 and World of Wonder for this amazing opportunity. A huge thank you to RuPaul for being my drag mother, for the acceptance of Kimora Blac, and for building this beautiful drag legacy that will go down in Her-story. To the RuPaul’s Drag Race contestants for welcoming me to the family and being a part of this phenomenal drag empire! Thank you to Lady Gaga for helping me accept myself for who I am, for being such an inspiration to all of us, and for being the best ally to our community. And finally, thank you to the fans; not just my fans, but all drag fans because without you, we’d be so much less than you allow us to become. You are beautiful, and I love you all!
